About
This site was created by two graduating seniors from Issaquah High School for our AP Government class, in order to spread awareness and encourage action for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Black Lives Matters was created in 2013 as a call to action as a response to the murder of a 17 year old black man, Trayvon Martin, and the acquittal of his killer, George Zimmerman. It is a movement to fight for Freedom, Liberation and Justice for the African-American Community, which campaigns against violence and systematic racism towards black people. Its mission is to eradicate white supremacy and intervene on violence inflicted on black communities, and also create space for Black imagination, innovation, and joy.
